INDIANAPOLIS -- The Capitol Police section of the Indiana State Police is asking the public's help in locating two tortoises that were reportedly stolen from the Indianapolis Zoo. • Northern Spider Tortoise • Egyptian Tortoise

According to a news release, the theft occurred sometime between 10 a.m. on Oct. 11 and 10 a.m. on Oct. 12. Two species were stolen, including an Egyptian tortoise and a Northern Spider tortoise, both of which are currently listed as critically endangered species.

The release said that both tortoises are microchipped. The Egyptian tortoise reportedly has a "prominent scar on its underside."
