The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce released its most comprehensive ever State of the Economy report Wednesday to benchmark economic vitality, workforce health, and affordability in the city and metro area.

Assembled on the data nuts and bolts of the region’s economy, the report crunches numbers previously not disaggregated.

It draws on 80 indicators — right down to consumer spending data from Moneris card transactions — for a three-dimensional model of the regional economy.

Edmonton’s strong suits include affordability, a skilled workforce, and a place as a major regional hub.
