Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm sent a clear message to his team after a blowout loss to the Ottawa Senators on 7-2 on Monday.
The Bruins entered the game coming off a big upset win over the Colorado Avalanche at home. Boston scored the first goal of the game before allowing seven straight en route to the blowout loss.
Following the loss, Sturm spoke on the NESN broadcast and sent a clear message to his team.
“You either buy in or not,” Sturm said , as seen on the NESN’s broadcast. “That’s the difference. If you look at the Ottawa team, they do it, and we did not. That’s the game.”
In the loss, the Bruins took five penalties, as the Senators went four-for-five on the power play.
Although the penalty kill struggled, Strum blamed the lack of discipline.
