Folds of Honor, the nonprofit best known for providing scholarships to the children of fallen service members, announced an expansion of its mission on Oct. 28, National First Responders Day. The organization will now offer scholarships to children of fallen first responders across the country, including police officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics.
Celebrating those who answer the call
Every six seconds, someone in the United States calls 911, and those calls are answered without hesitation. Folds of Honor said it wants to celebrate the men and women who respond to those calls and the families who support them by easing the financial burden of higher education.
“At a time when division feels constant, this day offers unity,” said Folds of Honor founder and CEO Lt. Col. Dan Rooney
