CLARKSDALE — A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that killed a 29-year-old in Clarksdale last month, police said.
Officers responded around 2 a.m. on Sept. 13 to reports of shots fired in the 1100 block of Desoto Avenue, where they found Alan Coleman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Coleman later died from his injuries, the Clarksdale Police Department said.
After an investigation, police obtained a murder warrant for 23-year-old Gene Dabbs Jr. on Oct. 6. Dabbs was arrested without incident on Oct. 27.
Chief Vincent Ramirez offered condolences to Coleman’s family and praised the work of officers and investigators in bringing the case closer to justice.
