Mint reports that Uncle Nearest is priming itself to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time this year. A decline in demand, a higher-priced cost of operation, and inflation have all been attributed to the company’s financial woes, according to TheStreet .
Uncle Nearest, according to the brand’s website , was created about 159 years ago by Nathan “Nearest” Green, a purported former slave who tutored Jasper Newton Daniel — the creator of Jack Daniel’s whiskey — how to ply the distilling craft.
