A Tuesday news conference held by Lincoln University President Brenda Allen and counsel Venus Boston provided little information or insight into the deadly shooting on campus Saturday night.

Boston and Allen refused to answer questions from the media, directing all questions to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office — even a question from a reporter asking if it was the first shooting in university history. The pair quickly left the podium as reporters shouted questions into the cool fall air.

“This is an ongoing investigation, and we have been working diligently with law enforcement to assist in their efforts,” Allen said to begin the noon news conference. “We will not be able to answer the questions that you undoubtedly have.”
