A York County man is facing arson charges after police said he purposely set his apartment building on fire.

At around 8:30 a.m on July 15, the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company was called to a structure fire at 2 York St., Spring Grove.

The apartment building is a three-story, brick apartment building that houses a total of nine people.

According to police records, Ethan Pomraning told police at the scene that he saw a 12-year-old child pull the fire alarm, prompting him to chase the child, and that he was unaware of how the fire started in the apartment building’s laundry room.

In October, police said they spoke with Pomraning again, and that he admitted to officials that he started the fire and lied about seeing a child pull the alarm.
