A recent high-speed chase that began in Troup County ended in a single-vehicle accident in Coweta County.

On Oct. 19 at about 9 p.m., Coweta County Sheriff’s Office deputies were notified of a white Charger fleeing Troup County. According to the incident report, a short pursuit ended when deputies lost sight of the vehicle near mile marker 29 on Interstate 85 North.

Coweta deputies later spotted the car near mile marker 44, driving more than 100 mph.

The driver, Johnquarious Jackson, 25, reportedly did not stop for deputies.

According to the incident report, Jackson weaved his vehicle around other cars and passed drivers using the emergency lane at speeds exceeding 130 mph. Jackson's vehicle reportedly did not have its headlights on.
