Racing has been scheduled to return to Lark Hill for the first time in 20 years after a campaign by a group of passionate local trainers.

A thoroughbred race meet will be held at the Lark Hill Thoroughbred Training Complex on April 26.

This comes after the return of the Rockingham Beach Cup this November.

Unlike the beach cup, the Lark Hill race will be televised and punters will be able to bet throughout the seven-race program featuring the Lark Hill Cup.

Former Fremantle Dockers player Hayden Ballantyne and prominent horse trainers Daniel and Ben Pearce were on the committee to bring racing back to Lark Hill, which is used predominantly for trials.
