BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — With the recent announcement from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, benefits will not be distributed in November, local restaurants are stepping up to fill the void.
Several Upshur County businesses are participating in a "Feed the Kids" initiative to offer free meals to children during every day of the week in November.
On Monday, the Daily Grind will be offering free kids dino nuggets and fries from 2-8 p.m. or a free kids trip to the buffet from 5-7:30 p.m.
Stone Tower Brews will be offering free kids meals all day on Tuesday. The Route 20 Diner in Rock Cave will offer free kids grilled cheese or chicken nuggets with fries and a drink from 4-7 p.m. except for Veterans Day.
