CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Although October is quickly coming to an end, trees across West Virginia continue to magically transform into shades of gold, amber, and garnet. Thanks to cool nights and sunny days, the magnificent autumn colors that attract visitors from around the world to the Mountain State are expected to last a little while longer.
West Virginia Division of Forestry Director Jeremy Jones said, “I encourage everyone to get out and enjoy the last few weeks of our fall foliage season."
Jones added, “We anticipate peak colors to settle into many areas of the state this week, making it the perfect time to take a scenic drive on our iconic country roads.”
West Virginia Department of Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby said the extended season provides more opportunities for travelers.
