BUXTON, N.C. (WITN) - More homes on the Outer Banks have been swallowed up by the ocean.
The National Park Service says four homes in Buxton collapsed between 10:45 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. today.
So far this year, 15 homes in Buxton and Rodanthe have been destroyed by strong tides.
Two of the unoccupied homes today were on Ocean Drive, one on Tower Circle Road, and another on Cottage Avenue.
Park rangers say since 2020, there have been 26 homes lost because of coastal erosion and high tides.
