Several roads in a Scots town have been put on lockdown following a report of a possible hazardous substance found at a property . ‌

The alarm was raised at around 3.20pm on Tuesday, October 28. Larch Avenue, Moss Road and Gallowhill Road, between Moss Road and Larch Avenue, in Lenzie are closed. ‌

The East Dunbartonshire town lies around six miles north-east of Glasgow city centre and one mile south of Kirkintilloch . ‌

Emergency services, including fire crews and police, are in attendance. The public are being urged to steer clear of the area and residents told not to approach the scene as investigations into the reported discovery continue. Article continues below
