ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Traffic is being redirected on Clemens Center Parkway after officials say a pedestrian was hit on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 28, before 4 p.m., when a person attempted to cross the road on Clemens Center Parkway at the intersection between Water Street and Church Street.

Multiple crews were called to the scene to assist with the incident, including members of the Elmira Fire Department, Erway Ambulance and the Elmira Police Department.

An 18 News reporter at the scene spoke with a responding firefighter, who stated that traffic had been backed up due to a person being hit at the intersection of the Parkway. It is unknown if the person was injured or what the cause of the crash was at this time.
