MADISON (WKOW) — Elijah Gray has been dismissed from the University of Wisconsin-Madison men's basketball team.

The decision is connected to events that occurred before his enrollment at UW-Madison, according to a press release from Wisconsin Athletics.

Gray, a fourth-year senior transfer, joined the team this summer from Temple but had not played a game for the Badgers.

The 6-foot-8 forward began his college career at Fordham before transferring to Temple last season. With the Owls, Gray played in 25 games, averaging nine points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 30.4% from three-point range and 48% from the floor.

Wisconsin Athletics said privacy laws restrict the university from providing further details at this time.
