WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) - The Waterloo Development Corporation broke ground Tuesday morning on the Cedar Valley CourtWorks facility.
Construction plans for the 100,000-square-foot building include 8 full-size basketball courts and 16 volleyball courts. CourtWorks will also be able to host wrestling, gymnastics, pickleball, and handball tournaments, according to its website .
The building will serve as a sports tourism destination for youth athletics, the Waterloo Development Corporation says.
The facility is being built on the TechWorks campus near the John Deere Museum. It is set to be complete in early 2027.
Construction for the complex is funded through the Raise Our Game campaign . The Waterloo Development Corporation says it has secured $30.5 million so far and aims to raise $37
