(WXIN/WTTV) — The Los Angeles Dodgers have taken the lead in the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays, with the help of a Hoosier.
Indiana native Will Klein made history pitching in the 18-inning game Monday night. The Bloomington North High School graduate was the winning pitcher for the Dodgers in Game 3.
”I watched the game all the way through to the end, and so I'm operating on about two, two and a half hours of sleep here at school,” said his former baseball coach, Richard Hurt.
Hurt said it has been amazing watching Klein grow as an athlete. Over the last year, the pitcher has jumped from playing in the minor leagues to pitching in the World Series, despite not being on the playoff roster.
