CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) -- The people behind the pumpkin spice latte were picketing in front of their business on Tuesday.
Starbucks employees rallied for a union workers contract. At the Starbucks location on Neil Street.
Not all Starbucks are unionized, but the location made the decision to do so earlier this year, and baristas said that it's because they're pushing for better and fair treatment.
"We are pushing for a union contract," Adrianna Mosley said. "We are not under any contract at the moment."
They have been a barista for more than a year, and said that employees want higher wages, more staff, better training and more flexible hours. They're also looking for an improved benefits package.
