COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) shared updated plans to redesign the I-90/US-95 interchange, one of the most congested traffic points in North Idaho. Transportation officials say traffic through this corridor is expected to double over the next two decades if no changes are made.

According to ITD, without improvements, congestion could spill onto Interstate 90 itself, increasing the likelihood of rear-end crashes and other traffic hazards.

This week, ITD presented updated design concepts to the Coeur d’Alene City Council.
