Curling irons sold at retailers such as Ulta and Sephora, as well as on websites like Amazon, have been recalled due to a potential burn hazard.
The recall involved Bio Ionic one-inch-long barrel curling irons. According to the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), the barrel of the curling irons can snap and detach, posing a burning hazard to consumers.
So far the CPSC has received 258 reports of barrels detaching, with six of those cases resulting in minor burn injuries.
The recalled products were sold in stores such as Ulta and Sephora, as well as online stores like Amazon and Bio Ionic's website between August of 2022 and July of 2024 for about $165 apiece.
