RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Richmond is seeking millions more for the new Diamond District .

The City of Richmond Department of Public Works is requesting $12,961,885 from the Central Virginia Transportation Authority.

The money would be for road and drainage improvements, street lights and new traffic signals.

One of the key components of the funding request is the construction of “Road J.”

It would be a new collector road linking Arthur Ashe Boulevard and Hermitage Road.

The Transportation Authority is reviewing the request.
