Seasonably cool and dry conditions will continue across central Pennsylvania through Wednesday afternoon before rain moves into the region by evening.

The National Weather Service in State College expects soaking rainfall Wednesday night through Thursday.

Rain will reach the southern tier of central Pennsylvania by Wednesday evening and expand northward overnight. Total rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are expected through Thursday afternoon, which forecasters describe as “largely beneficial,” though minor street flooding may occur around leaf-clogged storm drains.

Breezy southeast winds will accompany the rain as a low-pressure system tracks northward across Pennsylvania.
