Cloud seeding over parts of Delhi on Tuesday didn’t lead to showers , but it did help gather vital data that could make future efforts to induce artificial rain more effective, IIT Kanpur Director Manindra Agarwal said.
"We have obtained valuable insights and data from today’s process. As this was the first instance of conducting cloud seeding to control pollution, no prior data was available for reference," Agarwal said in an exclusive conversation with India Today TV.
The Delhi government partnered with IIT Kanpur to carry out the first-of-its-kind trial to induce rain and tame the city’s toxic air. The seeding flights covered areas such as Burari, North Karol Bagh, Mayur Vihar, and Badli. The first sortie wrapped up by 2 pm, and the second flight from Meerut completed its run by 5 p
