The Union Cabinet has approved the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC), paving the way for the next major review of pay, allowances, and pensions for central government employees and pensioners.

The move will directly impact nearly 50 lakh employees and around 69 lakh pensioners , including personnel from defence services.
