LANSING — For a near-centenarian, she's in fine shape, especially considering her roof is made of wood.
And plans are afoot to give the old bus a second life as a symbol of Lansing's deep roots in manufacturing and transportation.
"We believe it was the only one of its kind left," said Jim Snell, executive director of the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, which bought the old vehicle and planned to ship it to Pennsylvania this week for a full restoration. "It is very well-preserved for something made of metal and wood. For it to last as it has for 97 years is nothing short of a miracle."
