NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The North Charleston Police Department is collecting food items for its upcoming ‘Day of Thanksgiving’ turkey giveaway.

The agency stated that it is aiming to serve 1,000 families in need this Thanksgiving holiday.

“If you find it in your heart to bless a family this holiday season, we invite you to drop off any of the food items … by November 9th,” NCPD said.

Items include canned yams, green beans, corn, and cranberry sauce; packets of mashed potatoes; boxed stuffing mix; cans or jars of gravy; and boxes of cake or brownie mix.
