EASTON, Mass. —

A 20-year-old man died early Wednesday in a fiery single-vehicle crash in Easton, Massachusetts.

Police were called just after 1 a.m. to the crash in the area of Route 138 just past the Raynham Town line. Upon arrival, first responders found a Tesla with significant damage in the wooded area about 20 feet from the southbound lane.

The vehicle was actively burning, and human remains were found in the rear seat, police said.

The fire was extinguished by first responders, and the Massachusetts office of the chief medical examiner took custody of the victim's remains pending an autopsy.

The crash remains under investigation.

The victim's name has not been released.
