CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office tells News 2 they were involved in a short chase this morning after a vehicle was reported stolen.

According to the agency, units came into contact with the stolen vehicle, and the suspect fled. The vehicle chase ended near the 2500 block of Clements Ferry Road.

The suspect exited the vehicle and ran away on foot, and deputies are still searching for the person who ran, the agency states.

The deputies on scene tell News 2 there is no active threat to the community, and the investigation is ongoing.
