LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -Michael Szesnat Sr. and his wife Deborah's new roof is being built by Pinnacle Roofing for free. It's possible thanks to the Owens Corning Roof Development Project.
As a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Michael was chosen for a roof replacement through a partnership with Purple Heart Homes. He served in Vietnam and is a disabled veteran.
“We’ve married 55 years so I married him right out of Vietnam," recalled Deborah. So he had a lot of issues: PTSD was the biggest one but that turned into the physical things that he had from the Agent Orange. I know they’re going to do a great job and again, we’re just very thankful.”
