On Wednesday at 3:46 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a coastal flood advisory valid for Thursday between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. for Middlesex and Monmouth counties.
The weather service describes, “Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.”
“At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible,” describes the weather service. “A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is expected.
