BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Today at Century High School, AVID program students led by example, raising awareness among their peers about the principles of Red Ribbon Week.
Madelyn Kringstad, AVID Student and Junior at Century High School, shared what her and fellow students have been working on this week, "So this whole week we've been doing a red ribbon week to focus on promoting not doing drugs in our community. And teaching high schoolers about the risks and what they can get into if they do start doing drugs."
In 2023, Vision Zero reported that about 17% of adult arrests in North Dakota were for Driving Under the Influence. Although these arrests involved only adults, they underscore the importance of teaching responsible habits from a young age. Preston McKay, School Resource Officer at
