AUGUSTA -- Governor Mills announced today that over a million dollars will be given to Maine food pantries and anti-hunger programs while the federal shutdown persists.

The governor's office says 1.25 million dollars will be given to Good Shepherd Food Bank and other anti-hunger programs.

One million dollars is coming from the governor's contingency account, and the other 250 thousand will come from the John T. Gorman Foundation.
