The Echo Bay musician’s DIY approach to his debut solo effort includes a cameo appearance from birds recorded in his backyard, his microwave, doors and his daughter’s toy. Peer recorded the 10 songs on It’s Just Tim’s Dietary Restrictions for the Monophagist in his library and music room over about two months during the summer. He plays guitar, piano and adds “stuff I had around the house” for percussion. Article content Article content
“ It sounds like a full band when you listen to it,” Peer told The Sault Star during a recent interview.
He launches his album at Broers Jansen Wine Bar on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. Opening act is Gimiiwan Ikwe.
His folk effort features a “little bit” of punk influence.
