After suffering a serious injury midway through last season, physical defenseman Chaz Reddekopp essentially became an extra coach for the Toledo Walleye.
At 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Reddekopp had a role set for him in Toledo as a mobile defenseman with size. The veteran of seven pro seasons was brought in to serve as a stay-at-home defenseman willing to stand up for the Walleye’s skilled offensive players.
Reddekopp appeared in all 29 of Toledo's games to start the season. He led the team with 45 penalty minutes and had six points.
