HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - Officials say starting October 30 and continuing through November 11, Schnuck Markets, Inc. is hosting a food drive at all 113 stores to support local food banks and pantries as demand grows due to SNAP benefits being paused because of the ongoing federal government shutdown.
Schnuck Markets, Inc. says customers will be able to donate food items by purchasing them and then placing them in the donation bins that will be located in each store.
Officials say the most requested items are shelf-stable nonperishables such as: • Light tuna or salmon, either canned or packaged • Canned chicken or meat • Soup, chili or stews with meat and beans • Canned fruit • Diced tomatoes/tomato paste • Canned spaghetti sauces • Canned Beans • Instant brown rice • Who
