OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — The Owensboro Public Schools District will be collecting food to benefit students who will be impacted by the suspension of SNAP benefits.

In an effort to assist students, OPS will hold a food drive from Nov. 3 through Nov. 14, collecting food at locations across the City of Owensboro.

According to OPS, approximately 55% of district students will be affected by the suspension of SNAP benefits.

Most-needed donation items include:

Soups

Mac and Cheese

Oatmeal

Cheese and Peanut Butter Crackers

Peanut Butter

Ramen Noodles

Grocery Store Gift Cards

All items and gift cards will be collected by OPS Staff and distributed to families in need through the district's Family Resource Coordinators.
