EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- A new UM Health-Sparrow clinic has opened inside East Lansing High School, bringing doctors, nurses, and counselors directly to students to make care more convenient for families across mid-Michigan.
“The clinic is here to serve all patients between the ages of 5 and 21, regardless of their ability to pay,” UM Health-Sparrow family physician Dr. Greg Holzhei said. “The clinic is funded through a grant of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, which will help provide that care to our patients.”
The school-based health center offers primary care services like checkups and screenings, along with private spaces for mental health support.
“So many students are suffering with mental health, and so we’re able to provide mental health services,” Holzhei
