A 16-year-old was indicted on a murder charge this week after a shooting in Killeen in March left one man dead and two other people wounded.
On Wednesday, a Bell County grand jury indicted Reshawn Raynel Isaiah Ellison on a first-degree felony charge of murder. The homicide victim, 52-year-old Jahid Hombre Black, was shot and killed on March 25.
The charge was transferred on Aug. 13, to adult criminal court.
“The offense is of such a serious nature to the community, and the need for adequate protection of the public is such, that the welfare of the community requires transfer to a district court with criminal jurisdiction and...certify (Ellison) to stand trial as an adult,” according to the order of transfer. “The offenses were committed in a deliberate and aggressive manner.
