A General Court Martial (GCM) of the Indian Army has dismissed a Colonel from service after finding him guilty of having an improper relationship with the wife of another officer. The Colonel, belonging to the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME), was convicted on three out of four charges under the Army Act.
The trial, which began in May 2025 at the ‘N’ Area in Chandigarh, was presided over by Brigadier Jagminder Singh Gill from Headquarters Uniform Force, with six Colonels serving as members. The court martial was convened by Major General K Mahesh, General Officer Commanding, 8 Mountain Division. The verdict is subject to confirmation from the convening authority before being finalised.
