After shooting a 14-year-old, Springfield man hopes his story can change young lives

After surviving years of childhood abuse and decades in prison, a Massachusetts man is being given a second chance — one he’s determined to use to turn his past into a warning and a lifeline for at-risk youth.

On Oct. 27, the Massachusetts Parole Board granted Shawn Shea parole contingent on his completion of the Tufts University Prison Initiative of Tisch College program.
