At least 14 people who were convicted of crimes in Lane County had their sentences reduced after the Oregon Department of Corrections began recalculating sentences following an Oregon Supreme Court ruling in July.
Prisoners whose convictions were reduced in Lane County had convictions ranging from major felony sex crimes to manslaughter, assault, burglary, unauthorized use of a vehicle or weapon, and kidnapping, according to records from the Oregon Department of Corrections. Some saw their sentences reduced by up to two years.
