HURON COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A New London resident reported receiving a scam call from a person claiming to be “Collin Simmons” of the Huron County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the sheriff’s office, the scam caller claimed the resident had outstanding fines and would be arrested if they were not paid.

No one by the name of Collin Simmons is employed at the office and it does not collect fines, the Huron County Sherriff’s Office said.

The Huron County Sheriff’s Office said if residents receive this scam call to please hang up and do not give any information.
