ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A man pleaded guilty Friday afternoon for his involvement in a serious car crash in University City.
Tyreece Staten, 36, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a gun while being a felon, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Court documents said that on April 24, 2024, Staten struck a motorcyclist with his car at the intersection of Woodson and Richard Avenues, breaking the victim’s bones and leaving him nearly paralyzed. The suspect then fled the scene.
On January 14, police arrested Staten for having a gun while he was a convicted felon. His sentence date has been set for November 6. He is facing up to 14 years in prison.
