MACON, Ga. — The Macon Water Authority (MWA) put out a release on Friday assuring customers that the water is safe to drink.
They said that over the past several weeks, they received reports from some customers saying their water had an "earthy or dirt-like taste" to it.
The water is "completely safe to drink and continues to meet all state and federal quality standards," they said in the release.
MWA conducts around 200 water quality tests every day, where they look at a "wide range of indicators" to make sure the water is safe, they said.
They also said that recently Bibb County experienced an "unusually high number of fires," with around 40 reported.
