BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) — Forty-one years have passed since the brutal murder of a teenage girl from Bedford Heights.

But police told 19 Investigates they still have leads in the case and need the public’s help to track down Leslie Cross’s killer.

Just days before Halloween on October 29, 1984, someone found the body of a 14-year-old girl lying in a hallway of the Sherwood Village Apartments.

She lived in a building in that same apartment complex and was last seen walking her dog.

“It’s terrible, it’s heartbreaking,” said Bedford Heights Police Chief Michael Marotta. “She had no enemies. She was well-loved by her family. She had many friends. She did well in school. Just from all indications, just a sweet girl.”
