Before every kickoff, Marty Webb had one mission behind the microphone at Northgate High School.
"Keep the fans involved," he said.
For 28 seasons, Webb was the unmistakable voice of Northgate football, a fixture in the press box who brought energy, precision and personality to every game he called.
Whether it was announcing a dramatic third down or correcting a player's name after a half dozen tries, Webb saw himself not just as an announcer, but as a steward of the fan experience.
"My goal was always to keep the crowd informed, engaged and excited," he said. "You want them to feel like they're part of it."
