TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — With Veterans Day just a few days away, WTWO/WAWV is honoring local veterans who emotionally described what it was like to serve our nation in this month's Hometown Heroes.

Here is what they had to say:

“Oh yes, I want to salute it. I have two flags out here. It’s a good symbol for America. I like it,” said Elmer Ladue, U.S Army Veteran, Korean War

“I like to do it correct and not fly it at night unless it’s go a light on it. I’m very patriotic," said Lando Cosby, U.S. Army Veteran, World War II and Korean War.

“I don’t care how things might be right now attitude wise and on so. There’s still no where better than the United States,” said Bill Welch, U.S. Army Veteran, served in Patton's Third Army during World War II.
