MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating an accident after a person was hit and killed by a Memphis Police car.

Memphis Police say a person was hit by one of their patrol cars around 6 P.M. at Park Avenue and Getwell Road.

The victim, who has not been identified, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and later died from their injuries.

“As I was coming down Park and we got to Park and Highland, we seen all the blue lights down here and I asked my friend, I wonder what in the world is going on down there? As we got closer, we seen the state troopers and stuff, and it was like chaos,” said Willie, who lives in the area.
