What started as a Lunch became a two-decade power lunch, but even that eventually comes to an end.
Lunch At Allen’s, the Canadian power quartet of Murray McLauchlan, Cindy Church, Marc Jordan and Ian Thomas, brings its farewell tour to Eastern Ontario this weekend, with stops in Belleville Saturday and Brockville on Sunday.
The foursome came together in 2004, for what was meant to be a short, one-off tour.
“We had eight gigs across the north of Superior and that was the start of it,” Thomas, 75, said in a phone interview Friday.
Instead, Lunch At Allen’s embarked on 20 years of coast-to-coast performances.
